Before you download any of these apps, you might be wondering a company would ever do anything like this or what the catch might be. I mean, why would any company pay you to play free games on your phone?

- First, companies pay money for people to use their apps to boost their player base and appear more popular on an app store. Because there are millions of apps out there, they need help from people like you to get higher rankings.
- The second reason is that free apps often want people to play so they can get “hooked” on a game and buy in-app currency. They’re hoping that the few cents you earn from downloading the app will go directly back into their pocket. Obviously, the best way to avoid this happening is to ignore any purchase opportunities!
- The final reason — and in my opinion, the sketchiest reason — is gambling. Some gambling apps will give you free tickets to play to win money. Then they’ll give you some “great deal” where you pay money on more tickets to gamble. The best approach to these apps is to accept the free tickets but never pay for anything they offer you.
Now, with that out of the way, here are the apps!

Sony has started to offer PSN money for those that earn trophies on their PlayStation 4. The new change is part of a brand new loyalty rewards system which aims to give back to dedicated players.
The system allows players to slowly collect points by earning silver and gold trophies, or alternatively earn big payouts for getting platinum trophies in their favorite games. Learn more about how the new system works and how you can sign up for free to start earning PSN money by playing PS4 games below.
How You Can Earn Money By Playing PS4 Games
With the new system, you’ll be able to earn a number of points each time you earn a trophy on your PSN account. The amount of points you get depends on the tier of trophy. Platinum trophies offer the biggest rewards, whilst gold trophies offer a mid-tier reward and silver trophies only provide a very small number of points.
To start earning points through this new reward system, you must first sign up to it. Unfortunately, any trophies that you’ve earned prior to this system will not count, so make sure to sign up as quickly as possible to make the most out of the promotion.
Once you have signed up, you can start earning points for unlocking trophies in any PlayStation 4 game. After you’ve amassed enough points, you can then use your points to top up your PSN wallet balance.
How Many Points Can You Get From Earning Trophies?
Earning points from trophies is a slow process. You’ll need to get 100 silver trophies to get 100 points. Alternatively, you can earn 250 points for unlocking 25 gold trophies.
Finally, players are rewarded with 1,000 points each time they get a platinum trophy. With these in mind, it seems like platinum trophy hunting seems to be the best bet for unlocking more points.
In most cases, getting a platinum trophy is quite difficult. It requires you to 100% a game and get all other trophies. Some games, however, are fairly easy to get a platinum trophy. The Order: 1886, for example, requires you to simply complete the main story and find a few collectibles along the way.
Another great example is ‘My Name is Mayo’. This is an endless clicker game that requires you to repeatedly tap the ‘x’ button. You can get all trophies and get the platinum in 1-2 hours.
Alternatively, if you’ve got enough time, make your way through the Telltale Games series. All of these games do take 8-10 hours on average to complete, but you’re guaranteed a platinum trophy by the time you’re finished.
There are plenty of other games like this that allow you to get platinum in just a few hours. These games are often available for very cheap, too.
Before we move onto the next section, it should be clarified that you can complete these rewards multiple times. This means you can earn rewards from each trophy tier multiple times. There are no details on whether there’s a cap on how many times you can earn each reward yet.
How Many Points Does It Cost To Buy a PSN Gift Card?
You can purchase a $10 PSN gift card with 1,000 points. If you’d like to get $10 as quickly as possible, we’d suggest finding a game that is easy to get a platinum trophy in. Once you’ve earned your first $10, you could cash it in for a cheap indie game, or you could hold onto your balance and start building it up.
It would only take you 5-6 games to amass enough points to purchase a brand new triple-A game. If you pick the right games, this entire process might only take 2-3 days.
If you only play games casually and aren’t focused on getting more trophies, getting enough trophies to get your first $10 gift card will take a long time. You’d need to get 1,000 silver trophies to get $10, or 100 gold trophies.
Is The New PSN Trophy Reward System Available Everywhere?
Unfortunately, the new PSN trophy reward system is currently only available in the United States. It may later be released for other regions, but so far Sony hasn’t made any statement about whether the system will be expanded upon.
It may be that due to legal reasons, Sony can only release the system to the United States. If Sony does release any statement about a possible expansion to other regions, we’ll be sure to let you know.
Are There Other Ways To Earn Rewards Points?
You don’t just have to earn trophies to get access to the new rewards points. There are a number of one-time-only tasks you can complete on the PlayStation network that can boost your points balance further.
We’ve provided a look at these tasks and the points rewarded for completing them below.
- ENTERTAINMENT TRIFECTA – Subscribe to 3 PSN™ services and earn 500 points.
- TRIAL BLAZER – Trial 4 PSN™ services. Score a 15% off discount from PS Store.
- DIGITAL TRILOGY – Purchase 3 eligible Sony Pictures movies from PlayStation™Store on your PS4™ console and earn 500 points.
- TRIPLE FEATURE – Rent 3 movies from PlayStation™Store on your PS4™ console and score 250 points.
- MOVIE BUFF 2 – Treat yourself to a free movie after you register 5 eligible discs.
- NEWBIE MOVIE BUFF 10/17 – 11/6 – Earn 500 bonus points after you register your first eligible disc.
There are enough rewards in this list to earn 1,250 points.
